Between ideation steps - Writing Propositions

What is it

A simple way to summarise the early-stage ideas that have emerged from your ideation workshops. Think about following this simple formula as you construct them:

  • 1-sentence summary

  • How is it founded in insight?

  • Overarching proposition - what is it? Write this as if it's an advert

  • Features - how does it work?

  • Call to action / right to play

When to use it

Pick the template most appropriate for the stage you are at. Early ideas are about quantity, so you only need a line or two of detail. Once you have stretched and refined the concepts (using exercises like 6 Hats or Build it, Break it, Fix it), the middle template will be adequate.

The product sheet can be used when you are down to your final 2-3 ideas to prepare you for the experiment stage.

Templates are on the Miro board and on the PowerPoint below
